Another Funeral

I’m sorry to borrow from the new musical on Broadway Death Becomes Her, which is fun, but death isn't.  My 87-year-old mother-in-law passed away earlier this week.  Even though she was elderly, it was unexpected and sad.  She was a 1950's type stay-at-home mom who did everything for her family.  Here is a link to her obituary, which contains a further link to the wonderful eulogies given by her daughters. https://stljewishlight.org/obituaries/lois-carol-alper/

When I was at the Jewish funeral home here in St. Louis for her service, I noticed that the morning before there was a funeral for someone I knew and the day after would be for someone that I knew of.  That's three in a row.  It's better to be the survivor than the decedent, and I'm attending more funerals lately, but as Yogi Berra said, "If you don't go to other people's funeral they won't come to yours!"
